    DVM Western College of Veterinary Medicine 1999

    Dr. Todd Scott is a talented veterinary surgeon who started his career in a mixed animal practice in Wainwright. He joined the staff of Crestwood in 2001 and became a partner in 2004. Todd has a special interest in orthopedic surgery and was certified to perform TPLO (tibial plateau leveling osteotomy) procedures in 2003.

    Outside of the clinic Todd enjoys spending time with his wife and twin daughters on their very busy farm. He has four dogs, Lexi, Paris and Vegas, who are boxers and Carly, a French Bulldog.  The family also has two cats called Mr. Snuggles and Bebe. Todd is an accomplished horseman and a passionate golfer.

    Dr. Mary Machum always knew she wanted to be a small animal vet, but put her ambition on hold to study commerce and pursue a career in business during her twenties. In 1982, she decided it was time to return to university, first to study sciences and then veterinary medicine. She started working at Crestwood in 1982 as a volunteer, joined the staff as a veterinarian after graduation from OVC in 1991, and became a partner in 1992.

    Mary has a particular interest in animal behavior and handles most of the centre's behavioral consultations. She also likes internal medicine. She has served as a board member for the Edmonton Humane Society and the veterinary representative on the City of Edmonton Animal Control Advisory Board.

    Mary was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. She moved to Edmonton with her family when she was sixteen. She has one child named Scott, three dogs named Danny Boy, Lucy, and Kiwi. All three are Dandie Dinmont terriers, and one three legged cat named Tippy. Mary is also a lifelong horse person, and spends as much time as possible exploring the river valley trails with her horse Smartie.

    Dr. Pellegrino graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015 and enjoys the multi-faceted nature of small animal medicine having a special interest in orthopedic surgery, sports medicine, andneurology. Dr. Pellegrino is currently taking her certification in Canine Rehabilitation through the University of Tennessee Program. She will become a certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CCRP) June, 2019. Over the past several years, Dr. Pellegrino has volunteered her time to several spay, neuter, and wellness clinics throughout northern Saskatchewan and was fortunate enough to work with Veterinarians Without Borders in Puerto Natales, Chile in 2012.

    Andrea grew up travelling between Calgary, Alberta and Penticton, British Columbia. Before she pursued a career in veterinary medicine, she was heavily involved in research, but found her passion lay in animal care.

    In her free time Andrea enjoys sewing and quilting and stays active participating in several sports including soccer, yoga and running. She looks forward to getting to know you and your beloved four legged friends!

    Doug has been a full-time veterinarian at Crestwood since his graduation in 2005. His various areas of expertise include ultrasonagraphy, endoscopy, reproduction and all aspects of small animal surgery and medicine.

    Doug was born and raised in Beaumont, Alberta and now lives in Edmonton with his wife, Kerri and two sons, Liam and Caleb. The couple have a Golden Retriever named Maddie, a cat named Mozart. A member of the Theriogenology Society, Doug is the former treasurer for EASAV and is on the advisory committee for the animal control board.

    Pat moved from Guelph, Ontario and has been working at our clinic since September 2010. Pat and his wife Sarah, who is also a veterinarian, enjoy spending time with their son Henry and daughter Nora, as well as their three pets Sherman, a rescued hound shepherd cross, and two cats Hank and Donnie.

    Pat has a great sense of humor and enjoys spending time as a dad.

  • Dr. Kristie Smith


    DVM, Ontario Veterinary College 2012

    Kristie grew up in Toronto and graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2012. Following graduation, she worked in a small animal practice for 2 years in Ontario cottage country before making the move to Alberta. She started at Crestwood in 2017. 

    Her areas of interest are surgery, preventative medicine, rehabilitation and pocket pets. She also has a special interest in sighthound breeds and their unique medical idiosyncrasies. Kristie shares her life with her three greyhounds, Summit, Kili and Kenna, and two rabbits, Sebastian and Rilian. She enjoys an active lifestyle playing ultimate frisbee and hockey, as well as agility and disc with her dogs.

  • Dr. Jennifer Wheeler


    DVM University of Calgary Faculty of Veterinary Medicine 2016

    Dr. Wheeler started working at Crestwood in July 2018 after working in mixed animal practice in Vermilion for 2 years. 

    Jenn was born and raised in Edmonton and has always had a passion for pets, especially dogs. Jenn shares her home with her husband, 2 dogs and 2 cats. 

    After graduating from Calgary, Jenn moved to Vermilion to start mixed animal practice where she was able to practice on a variety of species such as cows, horses, dogs and cats. Her favourite aspects of veterinary medicine include internal medicine and dermatology. 

    She looks forward to meeting you and your furry family members!

    Deanna started working at Crestwood as a student and stayed on as a Registered AHT when she graduated from NAIT in 1996. She married her childhood sweetheart Deni and they have two children. They share their household with family pet Pixie, a Goldendoodle.

    Leanna graduated from NAIT in 2007. She has been an AHT at the clinic since January 2008. She shares her home with various pugs from her breeding program as well as an occasional rescue. She is heavily involved in the breeding program at Crestwood as well.

    Leanna spends her free time breeding and showing her pugs and has produced the Top Winning Pug of All Time in Canada.

    Registered Veterinary Technician

    Berkley Graduated from the Animal Health Technology program at NAIT and started working at Crestwood in 2010. Berkley has a keen interest in surgical anesthesia and pain management. Her and her husband Brian have 2 yellow labs- Rascal & Autumn, a cat named Nala, and a horse named Tessler. Berkley enjoys travelling & horseback riding in her free time.


    Registered Veterinary Technician

    Shannon graduated from the Animal Health Technology program at NAIT in 2012 and completed her 8 week practicum at Crestwood Veterinary Centre before joining our team as a full time RAHT in May.

    Shannon enjoys backpacking, running and mountain biking. She shares her home with three dogs, Paul, Shiloh and Fizzgig.

    Brandi graduated from the Animal Health Technology program at NAIT in the spring of 2010. She joined the Crestwood Veterinary team in March 2013. She shares her home with two dogs; a Boston Terrier cross named Axle, and a Boxer cross named Mila.

    She enjoys playing softball in the summer.

    Ashley started working at Crestwood Veterinary Centre as a Kennel Attendant in 2011 and has since completed the Animal Health Technology program at NAIT. She has a very handsome Husky/Shepherd Cross named Jacob, and a Jack Russell Terrier named Milo.

    Ashley enjoys traveling and hiking in her free time.

    Megan completed the R.V.T program at N.A.I.T in 2018 and she plans to apply for veterinary college in the future. She is interested in pursuing small animal and exotics medicine. She is from Newfoundland and has been living in Edmonton since 2012.

    In her spare time, Megan plays in a band, and spends lots of time with her pets. She currently has a cat named Chairman Meow, a dog named Pancake, a golden gecko named Kiwi, and two tarantulas named Waffles and Noodles, as well as some tropical fish.

    Melissa was originally from Manitoba and moved to Alberta to attend N.A.I.T's Registered Veterinary Technician program. She graduated the R.V.T. program in 2016 and started with us at Crestwood shortly after. Melissa is currently taking her certification in Canine Rehabilitation through the University of Tennessee Program. She will become a certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CCRP) June, 2019. Melissa has two cats named Shady and Gee that she loves very much and in her free time she enjoys traveling, skiing, camping, and other outdoor activities.

    Jessica graduated from N.A.I.T.'s Animal Health Technology program in 2017. She completed her practicum at Crestwood Veterinary Centre and loved it so much she just had to stay! Jessica's favorite parts of being an RVT are anesthesia / surgery and client education. At home, she has 4 cats: Sal, Curi, Charlie and Hamish. She hopes to add a canine companion into the mix in the near future! In her spare time, you can find Jessica on the volleyball court, having coached several club teams in the Edmonton area.

    Registered Veterinary Technologist, Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner

    Amy graduated from the Olds College (on campus) Animal Health Technology program in 2008. Over the years of seeing animals struggle with arthritis and mobility issues, Amy became devoted to helping these pets. This lead her to completing her Certification as a Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CCRP) from the University of Tennessee. This program included extensive anatomy, pathophysiology of various orthopedic and neurologic conditions, and a variety of treatments such as laser therapy.

    Amy has extensive experience in training dogs to use specialized physio equipment for the ultimate goal of improving comfort, strength, and flexibility. Amy enjoys getting to know each individual patient, and being a part of their improvement. Amy volunteered at AIWC (The Alberta Institute of Wildlife Conservation) and assisted with the care of eagles, owls, and a variety of other native species. Amy loves animals of all types, and would be joyed to be involved in the physical rehabilitation of any type of pet you have!

    Amy comes to us from Calgary, Alberta, where she also has experience in canine assisted swimming. She moved 'up north' to be with her sweetheart, and is happy to have found a home in the Crestwood Veterinary team! In her spare time she enjoys camping, dirtbiking and cuddling with her very loveable, 13 year old, rescue dog Tinka.



    Joanne is a part time receptionist and has been at Crestwood since 1992. She has two grown up children and lives with her husband Brent. They have a pug beagle cross named Monster.

    Joanne enjoys riding, golfing and traveling.

  • JODI P.


    Jodi has been a part time receptionist at the clinic since 2002. She has 3 boys involved in sports and a husband who travels for work so she is always on the go. In her spare time Jodi plays organized ball, and also makes country and primitive home-made crafts.

    She has a very busy household full of family and her very cherished pets.



    Karen is a part time receptionist and started with Crestwood in 2004. Karen and her husband Kelly have 3 boys who are very involved in sports. They share their home with their rescue Retriever mix Trooper.

    Karen enjoys golfing in the summer and curls in the winter.

  • PAT

    Office Manager

    Pat has been full time receptionist since the beginning of 2008 and has been a veterinary clinic receptionist for over 30 years. She has two dogs Ryoko and Lilly and has recently added a new addition, a collie mix called Muppet. She also has a cat named Annie.



    Jessica is a full time receptionist and has been a member of the reception team since August 2009. She started with Crestwood shortly after graduating from the Veterinary Administrative Assistant program at N.A.I.T.

    She enjoys drawing and spending time with her Husband and new baby girl. Jessica has a dog named Ollie and a chinchilla named Squirrel.



    Emily graduated from N.A.I.T.'s Veterinary Medical Assistant program in May of 2013 and has been working at Crestwood ever since she completed her pracitcum here.

    She enjoys spending time with her two cats Spinelli and Ivy as well as painting in her free time.


    Reception / Kennel Attendant

    Samantha began as a volunteer in July 2017, and has since been hired as Kennel Staff and now Reception! She is graduating from Jasper Place High School in 2018, and is currently at University of Alberta for Animal Health. She hopes to one day attend veterinary school.

    In her spare time, Samantha likes to embroider and cuddle with her cat, Midnight.


    Tech Assistant

    Cassidy started out as Kennel staff at Crestwood Vet and since has become Tech Assistant. She has traveled throughout Australia and South East Asia. Cassidy loves her miniature Dachshunds Snoopy and Delilah.  


    Tech Assistant

    Eldona started at Crestwood as a volunteer in 2016 and has since been hired as Kennel staff and promoted to technician assistant. Eldona loves animals and hopes to become a veterinarian in the future. She loves spending time with her best puppy pal Blue; they love to go for walks or play fetch at the dog park. Eldona also loves snowboarding, hiking and building puzzles. One of her favourite parts of working at Crestwood is getting to work with her best friend Ashley!
